Continue reading to learn why you do not want to miss out on one of the final opportunities to buy downtown at a price far lower than the most recent downtown projects..

REASONS TO BUY AT 28 EASTERN

1. LOCATION – One of the biggest selling points of 28 Eastern Condos is its proximity to amazing city attractions. The Distillery Historic District is a pedestrian friendly area, with cobblestone streets and many breweries, pubs and boutique shops to explore. During November and December, The Distillery District is home to the Toronto Christmas Market, which draws thousands to the area every year. The St. Lawrence Market is also nearby, where residents of 28 Eastern Condos can purchase farm fresh produce and explore specialty items from almost 100 different market vendors. 28 Eastern Condos boasts an amazing walk score with restaurants, shopping, cafes, and banks in the area, residents can complete their daily errands by foot.

2. FAMILY FRIENDLY – 28 Eastern Condos is a great place for families of all ages to call home as there are plenty of schools, of all educational levels in the surrounding area. Students attending post-secondary schools are just a short walk to George Brown College or can take the streetcar to Ryerson University.

3. PARKS & GREEN SPACE – 28 Eastern Condos may be located close to downtown Toronto, but there is no shortage of greenery. There are several parks in the area, including the 18-acre Corktown Commons, which offers walking trails, playgrounds and a splash pad to enjoy during the summer months.

4. RIDER'S PARADISE – Residents of 28 Eastern Condos will have the convenience of several different transit options to use in the area. TTC streetcars and buses are just a short walk away, getting riders down to Union Station in just 20 minutes. Looking into the future, the city of Toronto has suggested new lines that will intersect with Corktown. A relief subway line that would have a stop right at the corner of King & Sumach, which is less than a 2 minute walk from 28 Eastern.

5. HIGHWAY ACCESS – Residents of 28 Eastern Condos looking to travel throughout the city by vehicle have prime access to the Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway. Motorists can commute to downtown Toronto in just 10 minutes.

6. INVESTOR'S DREAM – Condo development has boomed throughout the last 20 years in the entertainment district just minutes to the west of 28 Eastern and in the centre of the city. Since development has become more dense, the surrounding neighbourhoods are, of course, next. We’re beginning to see new development priorities – community sustainability, and style, design and amenties spread throughout the downtown core. With all of the development in the downtown core, 28 Eastern was one of the last holdouts. Now that this site is being redeveloped, it represents one of the final neighbourhoods within the core to go through a transformation such as this. It’s relative affordability, even after 10 years of rejuvenation has kept it attractive for students, professionals and families alike, and as this corner of the downtown continues to grow, it’s expected more and more people will be looking to Corktown to live. With pricing set to be relatively low compared to other downtown projects and the rental rates in the area continuing to rise at rocket speed, 28 Eastern is an investor's dream.

7. FUTURE DEVELOPMENT – 28 Eastern Condos will be a lesson on missed opportunities for many people. Don't be one of them. A development boom is coming to this area. There is over $100 Billion dollars in purposed new development surrounding this development. Within minutes' walk, residents will have access to millions of square feet of new commercial and retail space as well as over 300 hectares of new parks and public spaces.

(i) RED BRICK PROMENADE

A large concourse and passageway that runs north-south from the popular Distillery District through a sequence of public spaces along the Trinity Street axis, ultimately culminating at what will become the third urban beach on the Toronto waterfront - Whisky Beach.

(ii) 3C WATERFRONT

The 13.5 acre 3C site is positioned between Cherry Street and Lakeshore Boulevard East, just south of the Gardiner Express Way. This development will include 2.4 million square feet of office, retail, and residential space.

(iii) EAST HARBOUR

To the East of our site at Don Valley Parkway and Lakeshore Boulevard, Cadillac Fairview is building a 12 million square foot office, institution, and retail neighbourhood called East Harbour which will include a second Union Station with Subway Relief Line, Queens Quay Street Car, GO Train, Smart-Track and buses. This neighbourhood will employ 75,000 full-time workers. The project is valued at $8-$10 billion.

THE BUILDING

This is not your ordinary condo building! Teeple Architects has been tasked with the design of this new condo project and they are planning a playful geometric design to add texture to the streetscape.

The F-shaped building features an eye-catching exterior facade marked by rectangular geometry and alternating strips of light and dark cladding, which create a sense of vertical ascension. Its evolving design now calls for 331 spacious suites, including:

  • 157 one-bedroom units

  • 145 two-bedroom units

  • 29 three-plus bedroom units

  • A limited collection of 17 two-storey townhomes is also proposed for the site, with 13 fronting onto Gilead Place and four overlooking Sackville Street.

Building amenities will include:

  • 6,695 square feet (622 square metres) of indoor space

  • 6,684 square feet (621 square metres) of outdoor space

  • A beautifully landscaped outdoor courtyard on the 2nd floor

  • A two-level underground garage with capacity for 115 vehicles and 338 bicycles

  • The building’s professional landscape architecture will extend into the public realm, adding new trees and green features to local sidewalks at street level.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The last decade has seen the Corktown neighbourhood undergo a tremendous revitalization and this process will only be furthered with the offering of 28 Eastern Condos.

Corktown spans from trendy Eastern Ave/King St East down to the Gardiner Expy, west to Parliament Street and East to the Don River. This includes the popular Corktown Commons, an 18-acre park featuring walking and biking trails, a marsh, sprawling lawns, outdoor fireplace and picnic tables. This neighbourhood has gained so much popularity among young professionals because they find this location conveniently close to the city's employment hubs and entertainment.

Community and recreation facilities, like the brand-new YMCA are within walking distance. Restaurants, trendy coffee bars and cafes are a few blocks away on King Street East, and both the Distillery District and St. Lawrence Market are close as well.

28 Eastern currently holds an 89 on its Walk Score and a near-perfect 93 on its Transit Score. This special site is served by both the King streetcar, which runs directly downtown, as well as the Cherry Streetcar, which was implemented specifically for this growing neighbourhood.

24-hour streetcar service on Queen Street, which is about one-quarter of a kilometre to the north

Excellent local TTC bus connections

Exciting plans for expanded rapid transit serving East Toronto

An increasingly walkable profile supported by a fast-growing collection of restaurants, stores, services, and neighbourhood hangouts
